Artūrs Sebris – saxophonist, arranger and pedagogue, who has just graduated with distinction from Jāzeps Vītolas Latvian Music Academy’s master’s program, department of jazz music. Defended the diploma thesis on the 20th century jazz music albums released in the “Melodijas” studio.

He has been playing in the Jelgava Big Band, Šiauli Big Band,  “Vintāža”, “Latvian blues band”, ensemble “Fried Bananas” for several years, as well as actively playing music with the best-known Latvian jazz and popular music ensembles.

 It also works in parallel with the awareness of the history of Latvian jazz music and the latest current events. Latvian Radio 3 “Klasika” participates in the program “Džeza impresijas” produced by Aneta Ašmanes-Vilsones, publication “Mūzikas saule”, as well as in the electronic jazz music magazine “JazzIn”.

In 2019, he won the award as the best brass soloist at the international big band festival in Amsterdam. Iin 2022, he won the music award named after saxophonist Nick Gotham for bright creative activity.
