“Ainavisti” – a Latvian jazz group that is looking for new solutions in music. The group consists of three notable Latvian jazz artists – the group leader, songwriter, pianist Edgars Cīrulis, master of the low register Andris Grunte, as well as charming drummer Mareks Logins, who introduces exotic rhythms and unexpected turns in the group’s compositions.
“Ainavisti” plays original compositions that can be influenced by new-jazz, swing, hard bop and various other styles of modern jazz. The compositions performed by the group are created as a musical cycle – each piece has an independent meaning, but together they form a common image or landscape.
The aim of the group is to introduce Latvian colors and identity into world’s jazz music.
